01 — About

About Me

I'm a passionate ERP functional consultant specialising in NAV and Business Central systems, with a love for implementing and maintaining high-impact ERP systems. My approach combines technical expertise with creative thinking to deliver systems that are both powerful and maintainable.

With extensive experience in project management, product ownership, and process optimisation gained during my tenure at the Royal Horticultural Society, I have successfully managed a diverse range of business products — from ERP reimplementation to comprehensive process refinement. I've developed and executed testing strategies in collaboration with finance and retail business teams, ensuring end-to-end quality assurance.

Work Experience

Senior Application Support Analyst (Functional Lead, Dynamics NAV / BC)

Royal Horticultural Society

Apr 2024 – Present Now
  • Functional owner of Dynamics NAV/BC supporting 300+ users across 5 retail and garden sites (~50 tills), leading requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, UAT, training, and go-live for all functional changes.
  • Solution design and configuration across finance and retail: chart of accounts, dimensions, posting groups, item setup, sales/purchase document flows, approval workflows, VAT, and period-end. Continia (Document Capture, Expense Management) for AP automation; LS Retail for store, terminal, replenishment, and offers/discounts configuration.
  • Functional lead for LS Retail POS across 5 sites (~50 tills) and the RHS Chelsea Flower Show — supporting a retail operation generating approximately £14m in annual revenue.
  • Defines and leads UAT, SIT, and regression testing for every release: authors and maintains a library of ~200 test scripts, coordinates business testers, plans cutovers and rollback, and signs off go-live readiness as functional SME.
  • Stakeholder and partner management across finance, retail, and inventory business owners, the implementation/support partner, ISVs, and a network of ~30 super users across all sites.
  • Scoping and discovery for the NAV → Business Central transition: fit-gap analysis against standard BC, partner engagement, and roadmap definition as the internal functional SME.
  • Owns the end-to-end product backlog in Azure DevOps; manages an integration ecosystem of 8 systems spanning e-commerce, payment/card systems, and third-party reporting tools.

NAV Application & Data Support Analyst (Functional Owner from 2019)

Royal Horticultural Society

Jun 2018 – Apr 2024

Joined in a pure support capacity. Within 12 months became the sole functional and technical owner of the NAV ERP system, taking responsibility for solution design, configuration, partner coordination, and UAT in addition to day-to-day support.

  • Functional lead on the migration from NAV 2009 to NAV 2018: fit-gap analysis, configuration mapping, data migration design, post-migration validation and reconciliation, UAT lead, and cutover support across finance and retail.
  • Designed and delivered Power BI and Targit BI reporting models that surfaced previously inaccessible purchasing insights for the retail buying team, eliminating several hours per week of manual reporting across the £14m retail operation.
  • Authored process flow documentation and training materials; trained store managers and finance staff on new functionality and reporting across 5 sites.
